Joint Statement of National Parties and Organisations Worldwide in Support of Tunisia Against Foreign Interventions
At the invitation of the Arab Youth Organization, national parties and organizations across the world are following with deep concern the political and diplomatic attacks targeting Tunisia, embodied today in a U.S. draft law that seeks to interfere in Tunisian internal affairs under the pretext of imposing certain political choices. This project falls within the framework of imperialist domination policies that have long targeted our peoples and nations, aiming to impose tutelage and control over national decision-making.
The undersigned organizations and parties declare that:
1. This U.S. interference in Tunisian affairs is a continuation of the ongoing policy of American pressure on free peoples, including threats and coercive measures against Venezuela, the unjust blockade on Cuba, and other policies aimed at imposing political and economic dictates on independent nations.
2. We express our full support for Tunisia and its people, and affirm that external attempts to interfere in its internal affairs will never undermine the will of its people, nor succeed in destabilizing the country or imposing policies contrary to its national interests.
3. We stress the need to unify the global front of progressive national forces and free peoples to confront these imperialist attacks, expose hegemonic policies, and defend the sovereignty of independent states and the right of peoples to self-determination.
The national parties and organizations of the world, while saluting the steadfastness of the Tunisian people and their resistance to all forms of interference, reaffirm that Tunisia will remain a free and sovereign state, and will never be a tool in the hands of imperialist powers to settle their scores or impose their agendas on the will of the people.
