The Popular Democracy Movement was founded in 2024 as a direct response to the failures of Canada’s political institutions—and the so-called leftist parties that have fallen short in addressing the profound injustices and growing crises facing people of Canada. The alarming successes of the far-right in recent years demand the intervention of a competent and unifying mass organization.

The Popular Democracy Movement stands on six basic principles.

The text reads: "Principles. The quest for a democratic future cannot be delayed. Refusing to bow down in the face of threats and degradation, we put forward these principles. They’re not the final word, but we think they’re a start."
