Tyson Riel Strandlund

General Secretary

Cde. Tyson is a Métis activist and historian related to revolutionary leader Louis Riel, bringing a decade and a half of experience to the PDM as its ideological and political leader. Tyson has an MA in history from the University of Victoria.

Saleema Aljneibi

Director of International Affairs

Cde. Saleema is a Bedouin and biochemistry student originally from the UAE. Formerly a member of the Presidential Guard, she sought asylum in Canada as a result of her opposition to the government.

Fiza Eeman

Administrative Chair

Cde. Fiza, the youngest member of the PDM’s leadership, is a computer engineering student and retail worker who is active in their union. They offer vital technical skills in managing and organising the PDM’s internal databases and infrastructure.

Joshua Egert

Central Treasurer

Cde. Josh is an educational assistant originally from Winnipeg, as well as a history student who studied at the University of Winnipeg. He is also an experienced financial advisor, providing important insight to the PDM’s leadership in its financial decision-making.

Julia Denby

Communications Director

Cde. Julia is a Marketing and Event Coordinator who has had a strong passion for advocacy and human rights from a very young age. She hopes to use her experience to amplify the PDMs & those in connected communities’ voices.
